Pro:
- The keyboard is of the size and the pressure point very well (similar to the Samsung N10)
- The battery endurance of approximately 8.5 hours phenomenal, and for a netbook a primary purchasing criterion. However, in order to obtain the long battery life, the screen strongly driven back in its brightness. But the surf is so's OK
- The Asus 1005HA-M as well as the Samsung NC10 has a matte screen. Who wants to operate its netbook outdoors should attach great importance to this point.
- The netbook makes a very high-quality and solid impression. Nothing rattles or creaks. Also in this area there is the Samsung NC10 in every way.
- I was really surprised by the great touchpad. It is seamlessly integrated into the housing and works great. No strainer is usual with other netbooks and notebooks. Thanks to the slightly dimpled surface, the touch surface is easy to find and pleasant to use.
But without cons is not even the Asus Eee 1005HA-M. But in this almost fantastic price of just under 300 euros also perfectly fine.
Contraindications:
- No multicard reader, although not more space would have required in the housing. A pity, because I use Memory Sticks, this would have been important. For SD Card users the Asus has the slot on board.
- Piano lacquer surface is complete rubbish just in netbooks. Fortunately, I have the white model, in which actually only 1cm wide black frame around the display is a problem. For one there sees every finger touch. In this point, the Samsung NC10 is simply unmatched in nacre. Said Asus less sensitive in white is as I expected.
- Sorry, no bag included. Ideal for Asus Eee fits the Logitech Kinetik, find in their zip pocket even the AC adapter and a wireless mouse space.
- Windows 7 was relatively quickly established after the first start. Unfortunately, however, then went no WLAN. So first start Windows Updates, which is easy to Win7, and install the many changes. Well new operating systems are usually not completely halt. After that I had to reboot and since läufts the WLAN of my router. Namely supi.
A small problem that affects all netbooks is the switch to Linux. I actually wanted a netbook with open source operating system, but no Linux version offers the same battery life comparable to Windowsnetbook. In some cases the battery life goes down to half and that is unacceptably. Too bad, but Windows 7 is, as far as I can already judging quite OK. It has been rapidly creates in Microsoft's new operating system and can work well with it.
Conclusion: If you want a low-cost long-distance runner with good display and keyboard ordinary who receives a very good device with this Asus Eee PC.
