I do not have many Orient watches in my collection, maybe 3 or 4, of which this Pepsi Automatic Professional Diver. In contrast, much more Seiko, Invicta, Tissot, Omega, Breitling, etc. This is not because that the Orient are bad, but because I am specialized in the upper class and merely relying in exceptional cases "cheap" watches, whether due the designs as Invicta and DeTomaso or the broadcast of a clock as the Citizen NY0040-17L.
And here we come to the point: This Orient is simply a cult, something like the Volkswagen Beetle among the divers' watches, or the "Pepsi-Watches".
These clocks are fondly because of the blue-red bezel called so. This design of timeless elegance, stressing conspicuousness comes from Rolex and was so successful that it was copied countless times and is still "in" and up to date.
Today, tens of years after the introduction of the original "Pepsi-clock", there is hardly a brand that does not have at least a Pepsi in the catalog.
Here the most famous:
- This Orient CEM65006DV
- Orient LUN9P006B0
- Orient FEM65003DV
- Invicta Pro Diver 5053 Pepsi
- Seiko SKA369P1 (Kinetic)
- Seiko SSC019P1 (Solar)
- Seiko SKX009K2, SKX009K1, SKX009J1, SKX009J2 (Automatic, with unlike bracelets, K = made in Korea or J = Japan.)
- Seiko SKX033K2 (Automatic)
- Seiko SSC019P1 (Automatic)
- Seiko SNZF15J2 (Automatic)
- Seiko SHC033 (Quartz)

etc.
Pepsi watches so there's dozens. The question that arises is: What is good for the Orient and the price is reasonable.
To answer the question of price first, I said smoothly, "Yes"!
Upper-class facilities such as Titanium Carbide coating, ceramic bezel and sapphire crystal has not to offer the Orient. Something there is only 500 Euro and that with good luck in stock clearance. It should be for the price and no clock for life ... nevertheless it serves many owners who do not protect, for years. The clock is considered to be very robust, very accurate, maintenance-free and reliable. In the automatic one does not need batteries, which pays off in the long run. 200m waterproof is not self-evident in word and even in watches that cost twice as much.
I think: More you can not ask for the money.
Well, there are also China watches for 20 euros in the department store, the lot of them also largely in conduct. That's right, but mostly outside hui only on paper, and hardly any that do their service on the guaranteed addition, according to the motto, inside yuck.
In the Orient you not only get a flawless appearance but also a decent interior, no shaky bezel, crown leaking or 8 micron coating that after 6 weeks already starts discreetly but decided to say goodbye.
If the Porte-Monnaie be better filled, there for about twice the Seiko alternative. This can be felt already on weight: The Seiko play in the middle class and not in the compact class. In addition, you have access to amenities such as kinetic electricity or solar power. That's tempting, but not vital.
If you ask me already directly "what is my favorite Pepsi", I would reply: The new Seiko SSC019P1 with solar cell and quartz drive, water-resistant to 200 m, a mixture of Automatic and Quartz, crossing a Rolex Mariner and Rolex Daytona. I have the current prices are not in the head, but it currently costs 360 euros on Amazon. This is of course a lot more than two Orient, but the same time delivers both.
I almost forgot that my review "Better a real Orient as a false Rolex" is. This means that you can also double also gets a false Rolex, wherein the glass when washing your hands (with hot water) steam up from the inside. If you're unlucky, the clock is not running and the pointer can be moved only by hand. Therefore, I say that to me a real Orient is much better!
