To obtain maximum battery life and improve the performance, I have the laptop also donated an upgrade before the first use:
- The drive is through a SSD (Samsung 840 Basic, 120GB) replaced
- The DVD drive is kicked, instead, an additional HD drive bay, where now the potters intere disk
- Additional installed 4GB RAM
The installation of all components was how I handled it by Lenovo and IBM earlier was otherwise usual, a few simple steps. Has taken the complete remodeling than 10 minutes to complete - 2 screws for the housing cover, 4 for the hard disk, one for the DVD drive.
The result can be seen:
- In normal operation (Office, Internet, Radio Stream) I come with a fully charged battery connected to almost 7h (!!!) Duration
- For demanding applications (Photoshop, Indesign, watching HD movies) still at about 4.5 hours
As a non-gamer, I can not make any statements about the power consumption here unfortunately, but would estimate that then again go down 25-35%.
Summary:
+ Ingenious battery power
+ Good display (understand the criticism of other Rezensionisten not)
+ Surprisingly good sound from the speakers
+ 4 USB ports
+ USB 3.0
+ Fan absolutely inaudible
+ Good keyboard
+ Attractive design (soft-touch surface certainly is not for everyone - I like it)
- Battery does not exclude 100% flush with the enclosure from, so rattles with each movement in the shaft (about 0.5 mm play).
- Very smooth hinges, when closed the screen snaps a nowhere, transport's rattles Again
- The included driver DVD was defective, Win 7 recognizes except touchpad, LAN and USB no single component. Driver 4 GB in size as Download
Conclusion: Very strong buy recommendation! To stop the rattling battery I incidentally a flat gasket underneath clamped, because otherwise I level not matching had at hand. Works just fine.
