My wife has also enjoyed (she's hippest French song as me), I ordered "History of J". Unfortunately the rest of the album is rather the second choice, as if in the meantime it was hidden talent! I think Jeanne Cherhal fared better when alone at the piano. The orchestral arrangements are a bit gnan-gnan, the plane-plane musicians (acoustic guitar sound synthetic, electrical solos are uninspired or tense).
Musically I think the melodies and harmonies lack a bit of holding too much floating, too often inappropriate agreements, all this would require a step back. The texts are gentillets but lack strength, background, too mushy for my taste.
It nevertheless feels a certain potential at Jeanne Cherhal, maybe she should switch teams, find most inspired musicians?
Fans of the singer will love it, it is normal, but for me I'll leave it there.
