The short answer is: Yes! Capcom has managed to reproduce the feel and atmosphere of the old parts with the current possibilities.
A large part contributes to the graphics that do not want to be as photorealistic as possible, unlike many other games. Instead, it has transferred the famous comic-like look on the fighters and backgrounds that are now fully calculated in 3D. So the figures have a narrow, black border, to make them act drawn, and in the "Focus Moves" they attract black ink stripes behind it. The whole looks very stylish with the remarkable effects in the Special and combo moves.
But now to the most important, the combat mechanics. As with its predecessors, there are 3 buttons each for punches and kicks to land light, medium and hard hits can. Depending on use, this change then the hardness or duration of special moves. The input window for key commands were again increased in order in particular to facilitate beginners learning the game, but that does not mean that the game was too simplistic. In particular, some Ultra Combos require fast, precise movements on the analog stick.
Which brings us to one of the new features: If you get hit by the enemy, a new Revenge display fills. Has this reached half, so you can start a modified version of the super combo of a character, which wreaks havoc and a fight may turn again. A cheap enemy Vermöbel card, this is not, all Ultra combos you can by dodging or blocking escape.
Another new feature are the so-called Focus moves. Pressing the central punch and kick buttons simultaneously, you can charge an attack in three stages. For the duration of charging can absorb one (and only one) enemy attack (ie one bekommmt the damage with time credited) to then start the counter attack. Unless the opponent has chosen an attack that can break through this effect, etc., etc.
Thus we see that Street Fighter IV is a sophisticated, multi-level combat system based on and accurately from growing depth and gameplay.
The latter also comes in the online mode not too short, for the means Patch still a tournament to be submitted later. So far, one can friendship and ranked matches against an opponent unsubscribe maximum - annoying lag so far I could not find (PSN).
In Single Player available to the players in the normal arcade and training mode is available, as well as a challenge mode in which it arrives on time, survival or proper execution of difficult attack consequences (good to practice!).
