In ancient paths with subtle innovations

THE ALBUM: One can easily recognize that it is Fair Warning and thus are likely to be disappointed fans of the band in any way. The Trademarks are the same as in the previous 6 albums: The somewhat rough, charismatic vocals of Tommy Heart and the guitar work of Helge Engelke hochmelodiöse are at the forefront. The game is played melodic hard rock. Of course, there are quite repetitions when it comes to song structure and melody lines. The sound is a little more straight than with previous outputs and reminded at times more like a live album. I think it's quite pleasant, because it does not sound so overproduced and clearer than the previous albums. There are very good songs on the CD, the recall as the cover of old glories. However, a few stopgap are also there again - a typical problem pretty much every Fair Warning album of recent times. You have the album but its credit, it sounds more varied than previous albums, albeit very discreetly. This is probably because, that this time the whole band participates in the songwriting.

To the songs:
"Troubled Love": somewhat reminiscent of "Burning Heart" of the Rainmaker, though not as strong. For Fair Warning typical accentuated, midtempo tampers with beautiful vocal melody in the verse and catchy, polyphonic chorus. Just the Bridge takes unnecessarily some momentum from the song. Of course, to SCREWING to new heights guitar solo should not be missed. 4/5
"Keep It in the Dark": not unlike the structure and the accentuation of the opener, but comes across a bit straighter and punchier. From the quality of the same, if not slightly higher because of the chorus seems heavier. 4/5
"Real Love": Here is the first time scaled back somewhat. Quiet start, gradually onset instrumentation towards the powerful chorus, but will somehow pull me not quite. 3/5
"Hit and Run": The opening riff sounds a bit after unusually cheerful AC / DC. Otherwise, again the same structure: accented verse, fuller and more akzentuiertere Bridge, wuchtigerer refrain. Live safely slightly better than on the album, however, already badly predictable. 3/5
"Man in the Mirror": Here the level of the first two songs will be recovered. Polyphonic Melodic Hard Rock Midtemposong.Besonders I like the clear sound and that the individual instruments come out well and not everything is easily clogged with Keyboard carpets. 4/5
"Natural High": The pace is picked up somewhat. Actually interesting to Hilbilly reminiscent guitar and bass track, but annoying about the whole song length. 3/5
"Jealous Heart": The best song on the album. Cool bass track and places Mexican-flavored Spanish flair, bringing an instantly to toe-tapping. Behind a discreet Hammond-tinged organ. With bridge and chorus as the typical fair-warning marks come to full fruition. 5/5
"Touch My Soul": The otherwise again convincing midtempo rocker starts with a fade-in, which I rather like not so. The rest of the song acts as a unified whole, making this one of the best on the album. 5/5
"Send Me A Dream": quite late comes the first ballad that is breathed but rather rocky. Although the song is internally consistent, it does not belong in my opinion to the best ballads of the band, because the vocal melody is elaborated enough for me and does not fit to Tommy Hearts voice. 3/5
"Pride": Another mid-tempo rock song, but this is not quite as fires. The first gap filler, albeit not a bad. 3/5
"Get Real": Another mid-tempo song that so hinplätschert right to not hurt, but not really rips off the stool. A little more variety would not have hurt, because the band again ascends the same scheme, as with all previous songs also. 3/5
"How Does It Feel": massive chorus that is but too crowded and very little recognition value. The third gap filler, lyrically rather stupid. 2/5
"Living On The Streets": Begins with a catchy guitar riff, going into the gradually the whole band. Slide guitar, if I am not mistaken. Here the scheme F ignites again, because the melody is really succeeded. The best song of the second half. 4/5
"Cool": The fastest song on the album - a total failure, yet lyrically Poser rockier than the songs before and for men over 40 in my opinion, on the border of ridicule. 1/5

Overall, a very solid melodic hard rock album with some strong songs, but also gap-fillers. Just in 4/5 for the whole album, because it's better than "Aura".
