There was a time there were tribute albums for all kinds of bands quite "in" and are sometime even annoying because constantly appeared diverse. The good of this type were for my taste the Dio Tribute double CD of Century Media who brought alongside the known unknown for me songs of great singer close to me. 2014 a few years after his tragic death is such an action can be seen in a different light! On "Ronnie James Dio - This Is Your Life" but everything and the creme de la creme of the true metal scene pays homage to the Americans and the still very successful versions. Of course, here his solo stage, Black Sabbath and his time is courted vigorously with Rainbow! Even the brilliant "I" from the often maligned "Dehumanizer" work of the black Sabbath is here and sounds fantastic. The already published Kracher as Dorors "Egypt" and Killswitch Engages ingenious "Holy Diver" interpretation lined up in new, good versions like anthrax "Neon Nights" or Adrenaline mobs for some time published "The Mob Rules". In addition to real bands, there are combinations of musicians, among others from the Dio and Dio Disciples falls like this, where I Tim "Ripper" Owens miss as a singer here. However, the bird shoots Tenacious D from the ingenious "The Last In Line" including recorder solo and singing with fervor Jack Black. But Motörhead with Biff Byford (!) Or Metallica are alone worth the money and as ingenious as the Mercyful Fate Medley on Metallica's "Garage Days" plate with the "Ronnie Rising" medley, a cool ass compilation of Rainbow songs. Correct Stinker there is no, no stylistic failures. Certainly not the most metallic Halestorm under the sun, but even they can not ruin the song! The repeated association of several musicians without a band name has become generally well, with Rob Halford with his interpretation sounds already getting used to but interesting. At the end there is the master himself with piano accompaniment and the sad "This Is Your Life" which already brings a time a lump in the throat when listening. Ronnie James Dio was just one of the best singers in our favorite genre! I dare even to say that this is one of the best Tribute CDs of its kind. Oh yes - the cover is still really the killer, right?
