My husband and I were interested in and go to the Test of WeTabs (despite enthusiasm about some other tablet, which we were able to test with friends) neutral.
Unfortunately, more my initial excitement to be able to test a tablet computer, quickly disappointment at the WeTab and I had my Geek leave the test field ... Why? Now, due to the first and most important for me criticisms of the WeTab: touchscreen sensitivity and display or too small advertisements for already sighted, but even more so shortsighted, User.

1.The touchscreen responds differently sensitive. This can be seen in the operation of the keyboard and playing a very negative, because depending on incomprehensible for us circumstances panels / buttons are triggered either difficult or no conscious contact. Surfing and playing so ask a lot of patience and nerves of steel to the user 'both I have only limited. My notebook is me because clearly prefer that reacts really the way I want it.
2.The display the type TN has a low viewing angle, and is uneven. So you have to first find the right angle to keep the WeTab to have the display in good color and good contrast.

3. Without deep interventions in the system (users without the computer science skills are not recommended!) Is the WeTab is not suitable to access systems on the local network, it neither recognizes our other Linux computer nor the Windows shares. 4.Gleich the first turning and especially in the application in WeMarket (= AppStore) turned out that the WeTab want to know everything about its users, it asked for personal information like name, address and date of birth. 5.The software selection in WeMarket is very poor and the few existing apps are too often left, for example, is 'The Quiz' only a link to the German site. More choice is urgently needed.
6.Aber not only the selection leaves to be desired, most of the software is not for the WeTab, the use of a tablet at all, adapted. It begins with the registration in WeMarket, which is made unnecessarily difficult by a far too small, quasi-operate only with your fingernail, form, and finishes with the games not to. Among the games I write following in detail my opinion.
7.The WeTab is currently advertised by a mail order company with a very light, but the need to test another than my husband and I, because we find it too heavy with about 1000g to keep it longer in your hands. In particular, the heavy weight falls in comparing two on my netbook that weighs just 300g more!
8.With only three hours, the battery life is anything but exhilarating and clearly too short to use the WeTab for longer travel distances.
9.Who has always made the design of the WeTab, let him please tell me what speakers have to look down at the device. So they can be covered if you normally keeps the WeTab in his hands and covered almost automatically when you supported the WeTab.
10.The would less of a problem when the sound would have a sufficient volume. Well, of course he has not, it is clearly too low to directly listen to music from the loudspeakers, or watch movies.
11.Abstützen wants to WeTab anyway not so happy with his own hands, because it is quite warm after a short time.
12.The Dispayanzeige is, as with all tablets, rotatable. But the image rotates with great delay, so that the rotation would rather considering twice, because the read / surf flow is hindered. Why the image can sometimes be upended and sometimes not, was not traceable.
13.A brief test of the brightness sensor showed that this makes the display seem always so dark that you just can hardly see anything. This feature has been so off very quickly. In the settings, the behavior does not seem to be configurable.
14.The fan on WeTab limited slots so that the user must always be careful up and down that occurs to him nothing to Tab. This is our comfortable surfing not before!
15.The GPS function of the WeTab we could not check because we unfortunately could not manage it, it can determine the location of several minutes long tests in near the house to join him were unsuccessful.
16.Es missing a sample program for the inclination sensor. For other tablets there are really nice ideas, for example ball mazes, why not for the WeTab?
17.Bei all these negative points falls the very empfindiche touchscreen, on the one but will actually see every fingerprint, as soon as I want to go to weight, mention it yet.
18.The downloading from the WeMarket is confirmed, but neither time nor progress is displayed, the application is simple sometime on the desktop. Although this is meant nice because it does not impede the use, but irritated too much to be good.

Tablet computers are intended for applications where the notebook keyboard rather bothers and may it go faster, that is, above all, to consume digital media. This raises the question of whether you surf WeTab well with the play and the media can show?

Internet:
That surfing through a not well functioning keyboard can become a game of patience, I have already mentioned. To that we that the WeTab not long held comfortably in the hand, but also can not be placed on the table, for the latter, the display with its strong angular dependence is inappropriate.

I'd like to mention here but that the WeTab is fast here and it is very well suited for short research during a lively discussion. In addition, the WeTab Flash plays flawlessly, YouTube videos can actually be viewed easily.
The WeTab brings with three Internet browsers: Firefox. Chromium and a browser of 4tiitoo that are different well adapted to use with a tablet computer. Firefox and Chromium evidently not, 4tiitoo So the seemingly best-functioning browser. Unfortunately, this also brings problems with:
- Bookmarks are not saved in the browser, but on the 'Desktop'. There you can sort the icons, although itself, but should bookmark for easy browsing directly in the browser.
- There is no input completion. This is now actually in standard browsers and especially with tablets very valuable because it saves typing ...
- If you enlarge a page, then it is not adjusted, it will just sections shown.
+ However, there is also something that is very good like about this browser: to scroll it shows a reduced overall view of the currently open site on the left.
=> On the whole, we have to say that the use of the WeTab surfing has some disadvantages and problems. Does not bother you at this, however, then the Tab is acceptable as faster Internet access.

The games, which I had been looking forward to enthusiastic tests on Ipad most unfortunately turned out to be great disappointment:
- About the problems with the strange sensitivity of the touch screen I already reported this to come to fruition while playing Unfortunately, special (particularly in Frozen Bubbles to shoot sometimes, without having this active chosen!)
- The Games windows are often so small that a good view is not possible (especially Frozen Bubble and Pingus), a full-screen view, there is not.
- Playing against real opponents, as it wins, for example, four (where the computer is programmed too strong!) Allowed, is complicated by the angular dependence of the display not only, it just is not fun.
- Some games are not about to be started Icon which appears after you install the display (for example, Tux Paint), but must be selected via the AppLauncher.
- The games are not adapted to use with a touch screen. Some makes little, others, such as Full Moon (this way, a tip: what is believed to be the home screen, is the first level!) But or Solitaire are thus hardly playable.
- The selection of games is limited to fourteen apps, something little.
- Some are known as Linux games and make a PC more fun.
- Two of them turn out to be gaming sites where you can test three games for free. We tested K1010. The games (darts, Brain and Battleships) are basically nice programmed encounter when WeTab but the problem is that too little power for flash games is present and bucking this often times.
The standing as child's play WeMarket GCompris I want to highlight in more detail: It turns (including Sudoku), logic puzzles, natural know-nomic games and many other things out as of games with various puzzles that are tricky and very playable for adults too. Of course, this is not adjusted to the touch-screen operation, some games are unplayable or jump without explanation after a few levels on keyboard operation, the short descriptions are well visible when the mouse over it go without not. The statements are, unfortunately, very poor, but the games are considered then but still some. GCompris is our download recommendation!
=> Play is the WeTab so not in acceptable quality possible. Too Bad.

Media show:
THIS is the real strength of the WeTab, leaving aside the Aufspielproblemen and anything but optimal display! Because the tab reads USB and SD card easily and is quickly turned on so that I can not imagine a better and easier way to show our holiday pictures or short videos.

To review again the positives on WeTab:
+ The operating system is Linux
+ It comes very well with external media, ie USB flash drive and SD card, uploading media works great.
+ General hardware each tested at the two USB ports has been identified, ie keyboards, memory sticks and external hard drives.
+ Flash is, at least from the Internet, played without any problems, for YouTube videos is the WeTab perfectly suitable.
+ The device is seen from the data required for many functions easily and quickly.
+ The WeTab is virtually immediately there when you turn it. Top!
+ You can install a root shell from the Market. That is, one can intervene in the system and make any changes to the underlying Linux. My 'private computer' (= husband) is the super. I have no idea what that means, and should therefore, as any normal user, leave it alone ;-)
Unfortunately, that was about it ...

Our conclusion:
The Tab is currently very well as e-book for reference. Since then it takes up less space than books and can highlight its advantages, while all the negative is hardly noticeable. Unfortunately, it's too expensive ...
Potential but definitely exist and are currently only two stars are open at the top, when the WeTabGmbH gets the software problems under control. To really exploit the potential and to become a serious competitor in the tablet market, the manufacturer should implement the announced integration of android apps and help software developers better, which runs obviously not really optimal according to Forum.
Currently I can not convince the WeTab and I would like to address as a buyer to the 'greengrocer'. Two stars.
