.. Not only this book is exciting but it is beautifully written (despite a number of very long passages where we get lost in lists of names or functions, but at the same time you can skip them.) This is a real historical novel in which you learn things but still retains a significant pending. Sometimes it is at the heart of the historical period in which we can better understand all the issues and sometimes it is at the heart of the novel, now trembling for heroes. But as there really is how Victor Hugo shares with us multiple perspectives. It does not simply impose its own, but engages the reader by offering several options to him to build his own truth. This is the case for example during the discussions between Danton and Robespierre or the end of the book. In fact we can say that there are several books in one. At first it may give the impression of a messy but when you get used to it makes reading even more exciting. When we are in it we want to have finished and when finished we regret reading.
