Having often revolved around the book found everywhere elevated to Doeuvre leader, I had long rejected the purchase. If masterpiece there, it is only the first glance (as said, perhaps ironically, B. Pivot, 4th cover). The idea was however great and beautiful promise pages on odors, perfumes, sensuality and eroticism of the female body. The result looks like reading a novel of the century before last (which is not necessarily a fault) but emaciated, without flew without romanticism, without style, without genius and without humor. I got bored and forced myself to finish, assuming a final flourish: there are certainly some beautiful pages on crafts perfumer and drunkenness exhaled girls in flower (especially red), if although cutting the fat and keeping only the essence of the text, perhaps would it have done good news instead of which, it seemed to me that the author, not wanting to spoil such a good idea, stuffed his novel unnecessary padding and secondary characters without relief, abandoned over narrative as testers papers.
Finally, having finished the book, I took some time to have the necessary perspective to a safer judgment. I started Huck Finn, Mark Twain, and there ... from the first page, what breath of fresh air! Finally you can breathe, you feel immediately that changes category that begins the pages of a gem and in comparison: too bad for the perfume, besides that I can not put more than 2 stars ... The tastes and colors as they say.
