Matthew Ryan has with his second plate placed more emphasis on the emphasis on texts, which are harmoniously rounded off with the music. So you can hear lyrics that are presented powerfully and with an inner rage and turmoil in the best Tom Waits voice. Complex songwriting and skill so vividly to grasp a situation in words and to bring the same emotions even to the point is well Mathhew Ryans highest talent. The compositions are harmonious, efficient, excellent and well arranged partly funny. The wild guitar Kracher of "Mayday" will hardly be found here, but keeping a rather quieter album in his hands, that the CD player at night no longer exits.
