Exaltation feelings of love (the novel is based on the crazy love between Owain to Laudine, loss of love and regaining the lady by the bravery and loyalty of Owain) and friendship link fidelity between Owain and his lion, fights and adventures, suspense, many own ingredients to enthuse children 5th (12-13 years), are present in this novel, one of the most accessible and exciting novels of the round table Ronde. The story (well written and translated), although it dates from the twelfth century, is lively and easy to read. The style is fluid and the many actions. Chretien de Troyes is the first great novelist of French literature.
