Convergence (Audio CD)

Customer Review

What an unexpected and somewhat unusual, but therefore all the more interesting collaboration! The jazz singer Malia has teamed up with the Swiss sound wizard and Yello veteran Boris Blank, to record a new album. And the result has become exciting and atmospheric crackling over relaxing. "Convergence" is the fifth album of the southeast African artist and eleven titles takes away the duo the listener on a very balanced calm and deliberate emphatic trip.
Boris Blank backed the singing of Malia with lots of soulful soundscapes, which move in the vastness of Chillouts, the minimal electronics and shallow funk-jazz. But of course it can not help but act out the spikes of his electronic roots on this work repeatedly in batches of the old masters. And so the sounds clink course on "Convergence" from time to time, it is bubbling shallow and it beeps because when you part Malia already gets here the sound composer of Yello on board, then of course you would also like whose authenticity musically with seen rising on his final produced album in nuances.
Slowly, reluctant and often almost stylish homage sings Malia the texts of the eleven tracks of their new album and takes the listener with it in a balanced three-quarters of an hour in which you simply drift and the soothing power of the emotional mix of music and song to be may be acting. "Convergence" can be translated as "convergence" and it is this convergence of two powerful components, the excellent vocals of Malia and the exceptional skills in the musical production level allows this album to be a special experience travel.
