In his book, Jean-Christophe RUFIN book us what led him to become a doctor, his career as a doctor, his commitment to humanitarian organizations as a doctor without borders (and others later) then its policy into action and especially his love of writing. A busy life he shares his feelings with respect to medicine so close and sometimes far from "humanism". It becomes more human when he says that his worst regret is having "stolen his death" a patient on which it is hard as she wanted to die in peace. He talks about the world of politics, publishing and through man to power. A very interesting book that shows how much love and admiration we can have for grandfather can influence a lifetime!
