Like many others, I am waiting for the complete concert from the Fillmore East for years. As yet Teo Macero was attacked because he had cut with his Scissorhands the four concert evenings on one each side of the LP, with abrupt cuts. As was to forward to the linear version. I was not disappointed, quite the opposite is already the beginning of a big surprise with strong pressure the concert starts, you can even hear Steve Grossman on tenor saxophone, and he cuts not so bad compared to its predecessor, Wayne Shorter on as usual is rumored again. The mix seems to me very successful, compared to the record a lot more pressure from the rhythm section. The Hall, which was higher than the entire recording has been removed, no idea how such a thing is possible. Sounds like a complete remix of the master tapes. Quite in contrast to the bonus tracks on the CD 1 and 3, a total of 35 previously unpublished minutes of the Japanese "Black Beauty" from the Fillmore West 2 months in advance. These were apparently burned directly from the raw original recordings on CD, they sound dull and dead as an amateur recording. "Black Beauty" itself is thus proved a disservice, because there the concert sounds much better.
