So far I've rubbed with the rubbing only lemon rind and cheese, which worked really well. Especially cheese is very easy and clean process, ie the crumbs up on our plates or in the pot, and do not fly around in the area, as seen with other rubbing. Something I was disappointed with the feel, because I had so presented for 22EUR more robust, heavy part similar to a rasp ... no, the grater is very light, more a stamped thin sheet that is folded over at the sides. It has been almost a little scared too impose when rubbed. Let's see how it looks with the long-term stability in terms of sharpness. The cleaning is ok, I try only with rinsing to get the part clean and never work against the grain because of the delicate nature mentioned. Whether the money for the grater - Made in USA - was well spent, time will tell ... Very handy is the Kunstoffhülle for storage of grater! Edit JAN - 2015: The sharpness of the grater is now after almost 2 years of occasional use still okay! BUT: It is very annoying that in the hollow handle water collects from the washing, ie after drying, we must still provide friction for a while with the handle on top of a cloth. Had not really a problem, but by the leaking residual water there is on the blade at the transition point to handle now also a 1-2mm wide rust. I find this unacceptable for the price of the grater.
