From beta status occurs when a game is in the rough, but still needs to be ground at all corners and edges. I brought my 2 Rome only with the most recent patch 8.1, because I could save a lot of steam in the sale, thinking almost 9 patches must sometimes be playable, but unfortunately Far from it indeed.
Let's start with the positive:
-the visual effects are quite nice to look at and the overview map has also nice.
make -the real-time skirmishes can have fun
and now to the negative, but I want my last battle briefly discuss: I attacked an enemy fortified town on the "controlled" by AI troops was. At first I could first blithely push all ladders to the walls and can march my troops. Resistance? The enemy was numerically superior while (I hoped that through play can make up for it), but were only 2 regiments of his weakest troops stationed below the gate, which were of course done directly from my troops on the walls and panicked. I think to myself, nagut machste times further and place my troops into the city center, who holds the center of a certain time, wins the whole battle. Again, resistance? No, although the enemy had countless regiments in the city inside the other side, however, they were not moved to some extent, some of the troops even lingered on their transport ships. Now I thought I still rushing out my dogs on the opponent to a little action to look at, the dogs rush going on and ..... stay. More specifically, only half, the other half loses then because of numerical inferiority, while the other is no longer moving. Meanwhile, the battle won by holding the center, the loading screen appears and ...... Rome 2 crashes. I have the already miserable long charging and starting times mentions the make restarting the purest agony?
folgich there can be only one conclusion: 1 Star
Graphics may well be ok, but the game still has no AI runs to on good systems übereraus unstable and slow and by the way the political system is also completely confused and spaßlos held. still goes to the many spelling errors and the grisly diplomacy menu. the speaker voices are very inappropriate (a conniving Roman official has the voice of a bauerntölpes, a young aspiring general has the voice of a peasant lout). The Help menu (which by the way also invites only with delay) is held much too coarse and unausführlich, many descriptions are missing, and I had to "ergoogeln" only.
Stronghold says hello!
My recommendation: Wait until Steam Summer Sale, then buy the game with DLC for a total of 10-15 euros and until then hoping for more patches. and most importantly: Just not advance from the company!
