Actually, it was rather the opposite the case. Immediately after release me sheared Elite armor, weapons, bonus missions, newly introduced Elite areas etc. nil. The main attraction was the beautifully designed and homogeneous world.
This and the related travel through the main quest rave basically for months - and succeeded me even x times to get into it. With other characters, with all bonus objectives (do not know any game that could motivate me to like that) - at some point I wanted to explore every nook and cranny of the map (enormous challenge) - and then armor were suddenly be interesting, because I had enough coal.
Eventually, I came in a Guild (for me rather trivial) - a few months later this was by chance that my - and so the pull became stronger and stronger. Years later Nightfall introduced the ingenious hero system, turn new runs were at x, because you could play unschaffbare areas of earlier solo suddenly. "... And months went by."
Those who believe the end was achieved, you are wrong. At some point I wanted to learn the "farms", made me a 55hp Monk (Googling allowed) - and the next few weeks and months have been done again. This also made incredible fun, required enormous skill and stamina, but also brought tons of coal.
In the meantime, remained an elite areas such as "plan", "The blast furnace (love him to this day)," The Underworld ", etc.
Probably have since then many so not today because yes "Eye of the North" came - and so long-awaited by many dungeons and in turn brought an enormous number of challenges.
This story by now probably get a lot of the crisis and think to yourself, something you can anyway never "catch up", or experience in a subsequently.
Well, let it be said: I have seen well-x one hundred hours with Guild Wars, but was never a fanatical gamer cellar with pale skin and without Real Life. In other words: The game is on the one hand certainly one hour eater when you walk in and sits down depends goals, on the other hand this is hardcore gaming but not required, to somehow be great powerful or strong. Seen in the campaign alone has so much fun that you have to make any stress because much still remains to be done.
This is probably a good transition, or a hint to GW2.
This has namely failed me only partially re-offer the strengths of Part 1.
Already when entering I lacked a real motivation - and after 20 hours was completely round out the air.
Graphics is not enough just - and it is remembered as LV1 Veteran quickly and painfully to the incredibly detailed and personalized Build tinkering from earlier times.
Meanwhile GW2 is passe - and I have renewed my heroes from the original Guild Wars beaten by elite areas sampled in the underworld new build, cleaned with an acquaintance Urgoz construction and would also again sometime all dungeons from "eotn" see.
Conclusion: For me personally, Guild Wars is the best game overall concept of all time !!
Sounds like an exaggeration, but I know not so cleverly thought skill system, on the one hand so much fun and variety offers, reversed well so so requires a lot of skill.
Furthermore, the entire game world is built so wonderfully huge and epic - I'll probably march through the Shiverpeaks new items in 5 years.
Absolute 5 star!
Furthermore, I do not think there will ever be another game with similar intrinsic values.
