My system:
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition (not getackt)
Main Borad: Asus M5A78L / USB3
I use a Bigtower without additional case fans.
The case is closed and I reach a CPU idle temperature of 28-30 ° C at about 1150 RPM. The room temperature is about 22-24 ° C
I must say that the fan is much quieter than the boxed fan. Have carried out a noise measurement and at about 1800 RPM I measured ~ 30dB. In any case, barely audible, because the hard disk is much louder.
Nevertheless I forgive only 4 stars because I did myself a little hard with the installation. The manual is been described easily, anyway to fix the body to the fan, you must first remove the fan (with two hands hardly possible) and only then can you fix the body to the motherboard.
It also does much more easily when the motherboard is not yet secured to the housing, because you get much easier also to Schraufen.
Otherwise, the entire fan is fine and does not occupy any space. But remember that the RAM must be installed first before the fan is mounted. Anyway, this fan is also compatible with an AM3 + motherboard, there has actually changed practically nothing on the Main board regarding attachment.
When gambling from the Call of Duty MW2, the temperature goes to maximum 54 ° C at about 1800 RPM, the fan is a little audible but always better than boxed fan.
For the money, it is certainly a good investment. Who of course genügent accommodate the height, is the Pro version better choice.
