Before buying this reader / writer, although reassurance that it will not be mounted on a PC with Windows 8 Pro operating system
With Windows 8, it is virtually impossible to perform an update of Firmware.Le burning will be impossible, and the DVD or CD discs losses will be significant, the DMA error will be present in each test.

By cons with XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 OEM no worries. ASUS will solve in the near future this problem by bied patches and this will only be a bad memory
Too bad this problem is not seen before the sale of this product. I work with many PC components, ASUS brand. Especially that ASUS is very good reputation and reliability.
