1) Build quality is ok and the handling is reasonably (handle is large but also schmall)
However, I also have big hands.
2) With GPS, WLAN, etc. you have the most important thing on board
3) The viewfinder is a real makeshift (similar to the SX50 or FZ72)

5) The autofocus is not the fastest (no camera for sports, etc.)
6) The most important thing is of course the image quality and selbige is sobering ...
At Sun, Wide and Iso 80 the results are still bearable (unless you purely zooms)
A result of less than optimal conditions very quickly Pixelbrei (the camera compresses extremely)
I can only advise to look at the test of dkamera (image quality and test patterns) and even
with eg. the FZ72 compare. How dkamera comes at the existing test patterns to the result, the quality of the
higher than the normal bridge cameras is my puzzle!
Conclusion: The HX400 is well equipped and has zoom tired. The picture quality is well below the SX50 or FZ72.
I can not recommend this camera.
