But if you want to make some more complex operations, would be well advised to look for another (high-order?) Unit, for as the Toshiba shows but significant weaknesses:
- HDD recordings can indeed share (to cut out eg commercial breaks.), But the portions can not be recombined into a single file together, what then when copying to DVD means that when you play at the cut sites occur annoying breaks , (Statement was corrected by me. See below comments.)
- The VCR is fairly simple construction. A clear still image can not be achieved by manually readjusting the track position,
- And what is particularly annoying: When dubbing from VCR to HDD, the recording does not stop at any point, but you have to let go through the cartridge until the end.
(Statement was corrected by me. See below comments.)
- Those who, like me, has an older television, should bear in mind that the Toshiba is not manually switched to the TV tuner. The result is that during recording of the TV can not be switched to another channel.
Other reviews have already criticized this here.
On the advice of the Technical Support Toshiba and various specialist forums I have attempted, with various part connected SCART cables to fix the problem, but this is not managed. Ultimately, I had to also set a new TV to me.
- Those who want to frequently use the quick copy function from HDD to DVD, you should remember that the recording format on the HDD matches the desired format on the DVD, otherwise only one copy over in real time is possible.
Oddly enough, but such. B. 90-minute HDD recordings in XP format are larger than if you were to record directly in XP format to DVD. Thus, also in this case the use of the Quick Copy function is not possible because the file on the HDD is too large to be placed directly in the XP mode to DVD.
