WHERE AM I GOING is the CD re-release of the same name album from 1967 and shows the White Lady of Soul in all their vocal range and varied as ever: Catchy pop songs (out tip: THEY LONG TO BE CLOSE TO YOU - you forget the version of Carpenters ) alternate with beautiful, dramatic Italian-style ballads (WHERE AM I GOING) and swing-influenced numbers (SUNNY). Sound technically the album is quite well worked, but I have to deduct a star, because it was also here used in the Anglo-French number If You Go Away (Ne Me QUITTES PAS) as with many other CDs once the faulty master tape, which at the last bars of stereo to mono and returns to stereo. Surely a little error, but a disorder that is also completely useless, since the US branch of Philips still exists an intact band in contiguous stereo. However, it seems at Philips UK for compensation for If You Go Away strives to have, for the twelve tracks of the regular album will for the CD three previously unreleased bonus tracks have been added in 1967, including an interesting early version of Do not Forget ABOUT ME, the Dusty for their legendary album DUSTY IN MEMPHIS has once again re-recorded a year later. Conclusion: In spite of the mentioned imperfection WHERE AM I GOING is a thoroughly recommendable disc.
