Point 1, Hardware:
For that I would have been considering entering the Price 5 star (*****).
Super solid, including microphone, infrared diodes, wired and wireless.
The camera can not rotate a full 360 degrees, but the combination of the two axes (left, right, top, bottom) are an almost full-round visibility, particularly when attached kopüber.
The infrared diodes are in the darkness visible, but emit only into a dark, non-interfering red light. The night view on the monitor is easily recognizable.
I have a room with about 5 meters in diameter without any problems very well "illuminated" with the camera in almost complete darkness.
Audio unfortunately I could not test, for reasons which I mention in software bottom.
Point 2, Software:
If you take a close look at the features, the platform independence is a miscalculation in many things.
Yes, it is true that you can view the image of the camera on all operating systems and even on any mobile phones. Very chic thing.
Such features like recording, audio transfer (both from the camera to the user, as well - if you connect speakers to the camera - from the user to the camera), multi-camera view and some others work only with Internet Explorer and an ActiveX plugin ,
Although this is stupid, because for example, my wife uses a Mac so you can use only the basic functions, but would cope.
Now I certainly have a laptop with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer. When I went on the ActiveX view my complete computer is frozen. So so in death still drew my laptop no other software.
I must say here too defensively that I tried it on another computer and it went well with ActiveX (except for audio).
However, it is annoying when you can not rely on the functionality.
I use the camera now with Firefox and without audio. :(
Installation:
The was super easy.
For the initial installation, the camera must be connected via a LAN cable.
I have the following instructions install the included Camera tool that told me the camera IP address. The is then added into the browser and from then on the camera configured in a graphical manner, similar to a DSL router.
Determine which eg WLAN to be used, are the key, from then on it has only the power cable to the camera. Wi-Fi enabled.
I still give 4 stars (****), because my camera really brings a lot, it does a good job and if you otherwise look around in the market, then you end up in the same three to five times as high price segments.
Only the printed on a color laser printer instructions seemed a bit unprofessional. I also found on the home page a firmware which was older than the one on the camera (should not always be on the Internet to download the latest firmware?).
Such strange things let the company Instar appear in a slightly strange light, but all in all a great product.
