Unfortunately, I could see "The Golden Bowl" only once in German synchronous version. But still, I'm sure one of the nicest, smartest, most impressive to have seen most moving literary adaptations that have ever German screens .. just not / or hardly honored ... From a director, to whom we owe such masterpieces as "Maurice" and "Room with a View". WHY ?? The actors / actresses involved were superb! Nick Nolte (one of the best actors of the world), Jeremy Northam (brilliant, and extremeley good-looking talent from Britain), Uma Thurman (wonderfully talented, wonderfully good-looking 'Siren'), Kate Beckinsale (remarkable young British acting talent, Whose "Emma" made of the fact admittedly lovely-looking Gwyneth Paltrow look .. pale), and the wonderful Angelica Huston in a supporting part. It Seems unjustly cruel, Dear Sirs, to rob us of seeking a remarkable literary film version. Please be so kind as to let cinemas show this masterpiece - and to allow, in due time, for videos to be sold.
