In The Lonely Hour (Deluxe Edtion) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Pop music is sometimes the same old overproduced commodity flat and meaningless. The (FM) wave follows the money, the music the trend. But sometimes - if you have already mocked the faith and hope almost as wishful thinking - is but an artist with the firm intention, therefore, to set to music his view of things musically. Then and only then, the musical production may be genre-determining, the music itself, however, is growing about the often too fast and pathetic assigned boundaries.

In the Lonely Hour is an album, which is noticeable in the lifeblood that has invested in the production of the songs of the artist. In places, introverted, quiet, almost timidly and then almost funky wrapped Sam Smith his music with a veil musical depth and reminds nostalgically of what once was and few today can: make music that touches.

In addition, you can assign to the artist who is currently impressive and rightly dominated the British charts, another attribute that is sewn together more often than it can be dear to us, artificially in the studio from several effects and "tools", namely a very pleasant voice.

In the Lonely Hour is an album that does not claim to want to be more than it is. An album - and an artist - the touches that actually manages to hinauszufegen the stuffiness of the "lonely hours" - perhaps a little theatrical, but believable, so you get in fact end up in a place - emotionally - the one often does no longer knows or perceives correctly - namely himself.

5 stars for great lonely hours with thoughtfully-making music.
