This comic mixes the everyday work of a young inspector of customs, Louzeau Aimé and his chaotic family history. He lives with his mother and an old servant and soon we feel that the absence of the father is a taboo subject and a crack for the young man. What happened? We'll know more in the second half of this Volume 1. The atmosphere of lentre-war (we are in 1937) is very well made, between the scars of the First World War and the beginning of the second. Jattendais however slightly more behind the scenes of the Mondaine, co-Louzeau are too caricatured, and this level of history is not always done in finesse, it is often limited to a catalog of perversions (prostitution, brothels, exhibitionism, bestiality). ALL OPERATING especially lack of a stronger guiding thread. Despite these reservations i rather enjoyed this first volume, and I definitely would read volume 2.
