The non-exhaustive, but essential requirements for such a camera in my view
- Very good resolution at high data rates eventually it comes to shooting in motion
- Shock resistance and water resistance
- Easy mounting on a variety of devices, body parts, transport
- Simple operation even at high speeds and with gloves
This is then followed oriented my vote.
When unpacking the camera makes once a good impression: No design highlight (including), but everything meticulously crafted with durable-looking materials and pleasing compact. Also in terms of weight, it should be no problems.
The camera is turned on with a bit fiddly slide switch. The recording starts with a push of a large and easily accessible button front, ends with a separate button above. At this separation have to get used only intellectually, but quickly realizes that this makes sense, since you so always know exactly whether the recording is in progress. The possibility that one takes maybe a little longer before you have the right off button found is certainly less serious than having botched a good reception. But I am so quickly coped (this applies to about the service) and so I would like to call the operating concept as very successful.
The attachment to the bike goes smoothly. A steady solution for attachment to the man I am looking for something and the freestyle will be to find a way to fix the camera during a race on our Greyhound (if that's possible suggestions are welcome). As for the impact resistance, the camera has been dropped me before on hard ground and has survived with superficial scratches but no other restrictions. Thus they should otherwise survive any terrain. The water resistance I jokingly tested under running water (successfully); the opportunities to dive 100m deep unfortunately I lack. I've had enough to know that rain and splash water of Rollei can not harm.
The video duration is in my opinion more than adequate. Not because you could make a longer action is not, but because the patience of the inclined spectator certainly finite and not you have to run and shoot the entire Camino. The recordings are very good for the bumpy field of application, I am anyway a positive surprise. The sound is okay, but of course, wind noise is not really hidden and often you put rather under Music.
Conclusion: I had never missed a ActionCam, but find it very interesting to explore what you can do with it. I'm sure, here I still drop a few applications. Without being able to actually compare, I find that the Rollei does its job very well. I see at least nothing that would have to be necessarily improved. In this respect: full marks.
