On the CD is the following text: "Carol Singers stamping Their feet against the cold, and singing Their Hearts Out." And that is what this Christmas CD so refreshingly different from many other different: We are not celebrating the 3 Kings in the cathedrals, but with the shepherds in the field commemorating the birth of the Saviour. And this impression is created by the instruments, which consist of fiddle, drum, whistles and accordion. And the voices are known from Irish Folk Songs: knarrige male voices that are not "sophisticated", and therefore not of the message that the Savior is born, distracted. And Ian Gilels has an impressive voice with which he also a capella can sing, no instrument needs that supports him or glossed over weaknesses. Since it is mainly English songs, there is a lot to discover what is never wrong. But the familiar is presented: The first Nowell, Hark, The Herald Angels Sing, O come, all ye faihful and - Holy Night. And this last song that zudröhnt all store visitors before Christmas ears sounds much more primitive loses the kitsch, the clinging to it many times. Who wants Christmas back to the origins, to the crib, which succeeds exceptionally well with this CD. At the end is desired in two songs that are not even listed in the table of contents, nor a Happy New Year to us. Thanks! Really big RECOMMENDATION!
