Usually, the writer-traveler Jean-Luc Coatalem like to imagine stories came from tropical and moist regions: Villa Zaouch, The Last King of Angkor ... climate of radical change with the governor of Antipodia, story Southern which runs on a weather base in the heart of a small island, near the south pole. It is cold and windy outside, but also inside the two characters that coexist in these parts, a "governor" then, and his assistant / technician. Each in turn tells his life isolated in a monologue where memories of happier days contaminate repetitive daily oozing boredom. Both Robinsons are, it must be admitted, not very exciting to follow and the player himself is trapped by one of monotonous languor. A wrecked Friday will bring some animation in this false icy stillness, but already too late. There are on exactly the same topic a recent Russian film (still unpublished in France) whose original title could be translated as: How I ended this summer. A sublimated by its scenery and history that exacerbates the hostility between two men living in similar conditions. The film is intense and dramatic as the book Coatalem rarely manages to raise an eyebrow.
