Collecting addiction, the legendary Enterprise D

It's kind of a scream: For decades, the motley collection advertised series for meinerseins offered rarely really desirable content and now, within two years of good, appears the third already potentially attractive series of useless but beautiful things. After the "Official Marvel comic book collection" and "DC Graphic Novel Collection" (the latter also from the house Eaglemoss), the series brings around the small Prefabricated models of the most famous ships of the "Star Trek" -Universums for fans all kinds of stimulus , Following the proven scheme, each package contains the said model and a fairly thin, but informative and well written, booklets for equipment of the ship itself, but also to its development as part of the production of the respective series, and a list of the performances in this or the movies. The first makes fittingly probably still popular ship of the series, Captain Jean-Luc Picard's "NCC 1701-D", the sixth starship this glorious name. Although not a big fan of such model collection series I per se, the price of that time just under 4 euros attracted quite for sale to test at least the quality of the collection objects once. I was expecting a relatively lightweight plastic model, but this applies to this ship only half, as the saucer section of a much more solid material (the manufacturer speaks of "metal injection molding") is made and, therefore, gives the model a thoroughly quality impression. Surprisingly fine precipitates also the design of the details, so you can even see the structure drawings of foreign Hüller material, which for such a mass product already "attention to detail" passes almost as. Equally important are the ends of the warp nacelles, because the plastic and its processing acts partly very cheap.

So be it: For now about 10 Euro is the model for collectors and thus gathering dust certainly still worth the money. The play value for children (it is supposed to give one or the other of holding these things for suitable for it ...) but remains limited. Whether the collection itself, however, can captivate sufficient remains open, however, already some models are at this time wandered in my shelf, though not all. For the kick-off model there but once the full 5 stars.
