Confession of a golden boy

Confession of a golden boy

The Fall of Princes (Paperback)

Customer Review

A voice says, without pathos or hatred and almost without regret; is that of a golden boy of 80 who experienced a lightning rise and an equally dramatic fall!
He knew all the excesses that provides a seemingly inexhaustible fortune. "Semper paratus" is the motto of this generation that is "always ready" to dive into the pleasures of the senses: sex, alcohol, drugs. But also pushes them into an escalation that led to despise the weak, destroying opponents, to betray friends, not to trust anyone. Live at full speed, knowing that you will die young because it is the AIDS generation and the narrator road is littered with corpses.
If I have found with pleasure the fluid and elegant writing Goolrick, I was disappointed by this monotonous story, distanced, which brings nothing new to the community it portrays and is even below that others have raconté.Seul, the beautiful character of Holly transvestite who appears at the end, sensitive is generous, betrays emotion and allow the narrator to find redemption.
