I admit that this was the first Prince of Persia, that I could play at all once. I have just as little Geshen the film. So I approached totally open mind this game. What I knew, however, was that these games series is a classic and a favorite (s).
Although I had not played the previous, I know that you as a manufacturer is subject to a large pressure to perform at such a success. Compares well with -something längeren- "Final Fantasy" series, when really, not every part was very successful (financially, a Final Fantasy for Square worth probably always but the opinions about the neatness an each part differ widely ).
Anyway. Fast delivery, top condition. DC unpacked and installed. The installation went fast as comparable in Assassin's Creed. 2
After recently flying over the options we went also already happening. "New Game" and away you go ... and that (or I've located on the controller and pushed it?) Probably not well in the truest sense of the word, because a great intro there. I do 'not know if you bezeichniet the graphic style as a comic style or cartoon style, definitely comparable to "Borderlands", so good.
1.1 Principles
What interests me in action adventure games like Prince of Persia?
-> Good story (no artificial extensions of time)
-> Authentic voices
-> Good graphics
-> Challenging but not overloaded Gameplay (effects + control)
-> Varied world
-> Not all about big straightforwardness (Action-adventures are probably generally straighter than other games)
-> Great combat system
-> Occasional humor
-> Right music
-> Reasonable price
2.0 Good story (no artificial lengthening of the season)
Why do I write separately in the clip "no artificial lengthening of the season"? Well, because I noticed immediately that one tries by collecting Life Seeds, which are needed to continue to progress through the game, the game time artificially pushes up. That is like saying in GTA: "You can not until the next district, when you gather the hidden package". This obviously scary to the fact that the game gets missed an extreme straightness. The story involves grundstätzlich much potential (although theoretically the ordinary 0-8-15 save the world from evil story is), but reduces a large portion of the game on the simple statement: "Climb to the area, killing the corrupt Boss and then collect as many seeds as possible a life. " Conclusion to this point: the story is GOOD? The answer is Yes and no clear. For this purpose, 3/5 points.
2.1 Authentic Voices
This point is processed quickly. Here I can only speak for the British Synchro because I think 90% of the German voices scream and therefore in principle play any games with the English version. Here the voices are so -as OFT perfectly and entirely appropriate. When Prince I have the impression that this is the same speaker as Nathan Drake from the "Uncharted" series. Conclusion for the Synchro (English): 5/5 points
2.2 Good graphics
This game has good graphics? Actually already. But why? Because it is a comic book style cartoon or style (I know the exact name is not). "It's okay!" Many will say. Yes, If you like it, finds it good, who do not, which can sometimes turn a blind eye because so exaggerated comically such as Dragon Ball Z games, it is not far. Conclusion of the graphic: 4/5
But 2.3 Sophisticated not overloaded Gameplay (control + effects)
Here you really have to say, you have a relatively good balance found, because make the fights very one-sided at first glance, the possible combos are relatively numerous and variable (sometimes greatly exaggerated). You can not select a level of difficulty, but there are more and less difficult boss fights. Yes Boss Fights may be mentioned here as the main fight, because fighting against guards, etc. will hardly find, as the world comes very barren and lonely. The climbing is fun and fighting is even how to handle myself well for beginners in PoP. There are departures but for eternal climbing on the cliffs of the never-ending canyon world and the fact that opponents defeated either fizzle or flee [FSK12 specified] (see. Life Seeds collect). Conclusion for the gameplay: 3/5 points.
2.4 Varied World
Unfortunately, you can not say that the world is very varied from Prince of Persia. Man climbs through killing, desolate and dark gorges to then to green after a boss fight. Then the same game goes into an endless number of areas, most of which hardly look different on.
You do not see vast deserts, meadows, forests and mountains. Solely a ravine after another arises in a way, so that one can imagine being in a big maze. Conclusion of the World: 3/5
2.5 No excessive straightforwardness
Those who have already read the previous points, the intended noticed that I address this issue in several places. Unfortunately, this is the constant companion of many action adventures. One can not turn these linearity to 100%, because one quickly slips into a RPG else. The excellent action adventure can straightforwardness more than make up with a great story and varied world. Unfortunately PoP does not count this, although it's fun as swashbuckling fighter with Princess as an appendage to transform dark into light and restore law and order.
In brief: Prince of Persia is very straight forward. Although you may decide the order in which you executing the areas, but this does not matter, because all are so strong änlich anyway. Conclusion for the sub-item "no great straightness": 2/5 points.
2.6 great combat system
The title says it actually already. If we are to fight me, then makes it also really happy. Spectacular combos make for good entertainment. Even if you only against an opponent / Boss simultaneously competes (no, no battles, such as in Devil May Cry). Simple handling and visual well-executed animation drive the game here a 4/5 points.
2.7 occasional humor
Humor must be simple in one action-adventure. This does not mean that the game is supposed to be cute or funny-Hannah-Montana-funny. No (oh no!), Sometimes a loose saying, a big mouth or a little glitch care in some places for a smile. Not least because the speaker of the Prince (at least in the English version. The spokesman of Nathan Drake scary änlich is) is simply first class. Here is the full 5/5 points are reached.
2.8 Matching Music
It has often been in the lonely, desolate gorges feel "it is here miserably". Yes it is, because the music is lacking in some places somewhat. But reassuringly expected only to some, because Ubisoft is the great soundtrack of the game: Suitable and Atmospheric he comes along and joins the humor with other 5/5 points.
2.9 Reasonable price
Well, what is appropriate. This is so as relatively little else. The price of the UK version (which I generally order) is usually cheaper than the German and for a classic absolutely OK. From a good price performance ratio is absolutely assumed here. 4/5 points.
3.0 Overall Conclusion
The game gets from me a whole 4/5 points. Why? I think basically 5 star far too imprecise way to evaluate a game according to their own, the most important points. Better would be at least a 10 point system such as IGN or a percentage scale of 1-100% of gameplay.
Because here account for 4/5 of 8/10 or 80 out of 100, I would find a 3/5 way too hard and a 5/5 way too good. Therefore, the 80% is a great result.
The game does not shine with a varied game world and gameplay, but the graphics, music, sync, and also control the Broad Story pull the vote on a good level. No compulsory purchase but at the price still a good investment for good gameplay á la Ubisoft.
