The novel opens with a special request of Charles with his sister Caroline. This should not only apologize but also to Jane Elizabeth. He wipes a categorical refusal on Lizzy and therefore sends his sister to stay with their mothers in the north of England.
Caroline finds himself humiliated but she remains herself throughout the novel. She is proud, haughty, stinging with people less fortunate and it seeks only the good society. The rest of the story So revolves around the future of "Caro" and how it intends to get out.
It is certainly difficult but reading this novel we understand - much - better his way of acting and reacting. Jennifer Becton control very well the personality of Caroline Bingley and fully respects the pen of Austen. It will remain equal to itself but to me read a sequel to his life after the legendary Pride and Prejudice was interesting.
