I bought this method for my oldest daughter large section current. I had little use until the end of the school year and I made about a quarter of the book with her before its entry into CP. This allowed him to arrive CP being comfortable with the syllables (s + a = Sa for example) and decryption of single words. The method used by the mistress of CP was "semi-global" meaning that my daughter learned mostly by heart the text of the book and recite rather than read. I was very afraid of the result, and I accompanied the beginning of learning with the method of Sami and Julie. Result: my daughter decipher all the words correctly and read to the Thanksgiving holiday. I do not know what part of the semi-global method and the share of phonics Sami and Julie but eventually my daughter is in CE1 and reads very well.
My second daughter is now in Great Section, we just quietly start method but just to allow him to easily recognize lowercase letters, uppercase letters and some syllables (we are in September, she returned to school there has hardly three weeks).
