The picture is deceiving. One gets the impression if they were chromed, because shiny in the photo, metal. In fact, the two metal halves are matte, approximately 0.5mm thick plate. Obviously these parts are just punched in the production. That leaves the touch not only the impression of inferior quality, even worse: the edges are even partly something sharp! Although the mechanism works when placed on the champagne bottle actually relatively smoothly - as the manufacturer also advertises - (and therefore there is mercy's sake and the second star), but the closure is also equally smoothly again. That may be quite accommodating for soft ladies' hands, but you can at high pressure in the bottle and careless touch the word "accommodating" with its other important experience ...
Bottom line, I'm of the product more than disappointed, especially since there are similar closures by other manufacturers for a third of the price. Those who believe that they could in the name of WMF not go wrong, which can be taught in this product better. The closure has not something to do so in the least with "Württembergischer metal goods" with German workmanship. He ranks clearly in the category of "cheap product from the Far East". A good example of how a company can make its prestigious name to broken.
