My Conclusion:
Both the Q5 and the Q10 are very good SmartPhones (hardware and software), which need not fear comparison with other platforms. In particular, the logic of the BlackBerry 10 operating system is impressive. BUT: it is missing some business-related apps. The cost to deliver 1 star.
Details Q5:
POSITIVE:
+ Screen (LCD, very bright, very well balanced, perfectly adequate resolution at the level of the iPhone Retina displays)
+ Very good keyboard (used to, but very precise). I like it much better than the AMOLED screen of the Q10.
+ Placement of the screen has exactly the required distance between the keyboard and screen, you need that on the loose operation (when Q10 is something not enough space)
+ Very good operating system with many features that can be a really fast
+ Very good voice quality. Actually, the best thing I've heard so far. (Network: Telekom) - even when using the speakerphone. On both sides of very good clarity and volume.
+ Short battery charging
+ Well-made calendar
NEUTRAL:
+/- Pure plastic. Works by fairly inexpensive and is not good in the hand. But is processed very well (except for the SIM card cover).
+/- Runtime ok. 1 day easy going but BlackBerry has since been more.
NEGATIVE:
- Is very warm quickly. But at least never unbearable.
- Revolving plastic edge presses the phone to the ear. For continuous callers that can become a problem.
- Important apps are missing or in comparison with other platforms quite poorly implemented: 1) there is no serious dictionaries that are available ONBOARD. Of course, it gbt the LEO app, but needs just anytime network (which is not always available). The rest is just scrap (the pay versions), the former (very good) SlovoEd dictionaries are not available. 2.) Navigation. Totally inadequate implemented. The integrated "Maps" app is not bad (turn-by-turn prompts), but some address you can not enter easily, although the app knows them very well. Has gone to me several times so and that is a no go if you want to be sure to find a customer. The only app that (charge) is onboard for navigation is available WISE. Had I been in the past, now they did particularly distinguished by crashes. In addition, it needs necessarily an Internet connection (onboard navigation is thus relatively) and to start a valid GPS signal. Then there's "Hello GPS", which shows the GPS status and actually shows on a map where you just run / runs, but there is the arrow regularly about 5-10 m in addition to the position and (worse :) showed only sometimes in the right direction, 3.) a miserable XING implementation. While there is a conversion, but that can only be described as extremely rudimentary.
- Moderate to poor reception. Always less than the iPhone 4 (which is not known for its particularly good reception quality, technically: about 1-2 dB less always). In addition, the GSM reception like aborts where other devices have still received and (worse :) can be an extremely long time, until it finds a reception. That could Blckaberry far better!
- No removable battery!
