One last time together cross the road ... Then the time of fruitful cooperation should go but definitely over. A record cover, that speaks volumes. It is no less legendary than the CD itself!
Highlights include - as in fact on all albums of the former Fab Four - equal to find more, which I hereby especially Mr. Harrison would like to highlight contributions. The wonderfully melancholic "Something" and the irresistible "Here Comes The Sun" are in my opinion two of the most beautiful Beatles numbers at all! Even the launch of "Come Together" is a highlight, and perhaps even the most sophisticated composition that Lennon has contributed during his Beatles period. It shows that the band - was able to develop and has matured - despite (or perhaps because) internal differences!
In fact, I personally find the second Beatles Decade by SGT. PEPPERS (even if I just this record for quite overvalued holding) 1967 interesting than the previous years, even if the British no longer 5 hit singles (and more!) Were delivering annually. Somehow it shows but also to the compilation of the later albums that the band "grown" is. In particular, just - I would say - here, on ABBEY ROAD, perhaps marked no revolutionary turning point in the band's biography, but (do not misunderstand me) as a slightly melancholy-cynical Adieu can be understood (if you want).
Conclusion: ABBEY ROAD I think next THE BEATLES (the "white album" stop) for the most interesting and most successful oeuvre of the legendary Fab Four!
Predicate: LEGENDARY BEAUTIFUL - BEAUTIFUL legendary. Undoubtedly a classic of recent music history!
