1. Tryptophan needs always (!!!) some carbohydrates as a transporter into the brain, so you still must therefore take a few "carbs" for example, in no-carb-diet in the evening so that tryptophan can act (half a banana, Vollkornknäcke oa) This may explain the different assessments of the effectiveness ...!
2. The dose is great, because the capsules need to dissolve in the stomach, however, longer than in tablet form, so arrive at least one hour until the substance in the brain!
