The tribulations of a band of mercenary killers of Indians on the border of Mexico and the US, in the mid 19th century. Rich with different personalities, such as Gamin (not 20 years old, illiterate orphan) Glanton (charismatic and hard head), Judge (fount of monstrous physical), a point that unites troupe: the potential for random violence without limits. That's why this band, having put in the service of a Mexican governor, sinks into a murderous course where Indian, Mexican farmers, equestrians of all kinds, men women and children were massacred in the money, food, for pleasure or habit. All this takes place in a context of Western Sergio Leone with the wild and magnificent scenery. McCarthy develops a work of intense black, sort of initiatory mystical journey in ultra violence and evil, which is reminiscent of "Heart of Darkness" by Conrad, or "Apocalypse Now". The writing is rich, beautiful and enjoyable. However, this description of a brutal violence boundless may surprise and shock. Not prepared to face this novel, I first read 30 pages and I closed for six months ... Are you ready to dive into this inhuman hell where life and death come together lyrically?
