Very good Blu-ray player at budget price

Passionate cinephile, I wanted to finally move to Blu-ray to better enjoy my full HD. After reading various tests and according to my budget, my choice was stopped on that drive.
After about three weeks of use, I was really pleased with this purchase.

First, the image quality is really excellent with superb color matching which can still, however, change the settings. The contrasts are so good we often have a 3D visual effect while you read a Blu ray 2D! Epatant. The sharpness and grain are bluffing. I have not been tried yet 3D (see other review for this). The image of DVDS is effectively improved and the soundtrack. Without reaching the quality Blu Ray, it still gives them a sacred facelift!

Regarding the sound, this model has in addition to its HDMI output an output RCA Audio and it's one of the only models on the market to benefit. With no video amp but still a formidable HIFI amp, this output is handy for passing audio through my HIFI installation. And even if, as a result, it remains 2.0, what does it send! Super dynamic, deep bass, broad-spectrum! To take full advantage of the audio quality, it must be sure that the sound track of the Blu ray is DTS HD. This is the case in VO but unfortunately this is far from the legion lined track in French! Finally, that's a problem publisher ...
It may be noted that even playing Dolby D track, Blu ray is still really good job. I guess coupled with Audio Video 5.1 or 7.1 amp that can decompress the sound of the Dolby track, it still must do it well.

About playing files on USB stick or external HDD, there is a panel of supportés.Mes encoded videos in MPEG4 formats (initially on Dvds code area 4 that the reader does not read) are visually fabulous, much better than on the original DVDs. Really positively surprised on this point.

No problem for network connection (Ethernet for me): reading Youtube videos is fine and the Sharing.

So for the price, there is reason to be satisfied.

Since we must still find a few flaws, I would say that the major flaw seems to be the player of slow reactivity: starting a Blu-ray, loading a video a bit heavy on the key etc .. .
It is also a pity that the reader has very little function outside remote: Beware therefore, not lose it!
Even a small mistake ergonomics why Philips has he assigned to the same button action stop playback and eject the disc (when you hold it pressed 4 sec)? This is not practical.

In summary, the camera does a very good job for a fair price so we gladly pass on these few flaws. Then: "Good session".
