PROS:
+ In the core function very well, stable Wi-Fi, good reception quality, fast call setup
(But requires a little configuration technology understanding) + very easy to use, self-explanatory display
+ Li-Ion battery with 2000 mAh for a total of 5-7 hours of battery life
+ Firmware update went smoothly (currently the latest firmware 1.1.2 from 20.06.2013)
NEUTRAL:
o preset key for the wireless is "hidden" on the inside of the housing cover
o back is flat, safe on the table; bad, though, is that the back is a slippery, smooth plastic surface (as opposed to other roughened housing), the drop on inclined surfaces is therefore not possible
CONS:
- Housing not so well made, can be expected as pictures, different clearances
- To open plastic cover only very laborious ("fingernail breaker"), soft plastic too sensitive for screwdriver; Column is too small to use a coin; Who uses such as "Yes-mobile" (REWE) as providers, can not charge online, but must do so via the hotline, to the SIM card must be removed each time from the router and used in a mobile phone - a worst possible combination with this housing
- Not sure in the basic configuration: login password for user is "admin"
- Probably no EDGE (according to information from the technical support via e-mail "the EDGE mode requires more power and will therefore not supported by the M5350"). The absence of EDGE is a pity, since, for example in the D1 network EDGE is available almost all, 3G in rural areas but only partially
Note: It is confusing that the specifications on the website of TP-Link Network Type Only "HSPA + / HSUPA / HSDPA / UMTS" is listed, while in the specifications in the user manual (p.39) under Network Type "3G : HSPA + / HSUPA / HSDPA / UMTS 2G: GSM / GPRS / EDGE takes "
- No information on the charging status with inserted power supply and power is off: to check whether the battery is full, the router must be turned on every time (pressing the button does not cause switching of the display)
- The optional plug-in SD card can only be used as a mass storage in USB mode, no access via WLAN
- Similar no eye for hanging on a ribbon / Can not fix the luggage, no storage bag for routers and cables
- Manual (available online as PDF) not available in German
Due to the good WLAN function and the very simple operation but I am nevertheless satisfied and would the unit - as me so far no better known - buy again.
