In a macro, like this one, of course, a not very unerring AF gets quickly noticeable. So you are forced to stop down basically two values, so that the image of the focused spot is relatively sharp. In erstbestellten the focus was about 2cm behind the next 1 cm too far forward. The latter I have then taken and get sharp in my Nikon in the fine adjustment. Too bad that the USB Dock does not work for this objective, because it would thus become easier.
About the Lens
The lens is verrabeitet top quality finishings and has a stately weight. it already provides at maximum aperture very well and erzeiugt background blur a beautiful bokeh. It has an effective image stabilizer, which acts sigma typical little bumpy, but very effective. Since this is a macro, the autofocus itself with HSM engine is not a sprinter, but the lens is relatively fast sharp.
Due to the high focal length, you can maintain some distance just in insects, etc., so that they are not already off before taking them to target. The lens forms a 1: 1, which means that an object can be displayed in the original size. Due to its high resolving power, it is also full of formats, such as the Nikon D800, D750 D810 extremely useful and produces razor-sharp images, particularly around 1-2 values dimmed. If the tiresome AF problem would not be that probably comes into play with some, then it would have deserved five stars. In an autofocus lens, the AF belongs naturally to and if that fits in a macro not entirely, then it evaluates in my eyes the lens.
Remedy creates an adjustment in the Nikon (because you have to but in a changing lenses always remember that selecting the macro, and then switch back if you have a different lens on it) or you send the camera and lens to Sigma and there is the lens precisely matched to the camera ... for free.
Otherwise, it is a very good lens, with which you can make great photos, with a top value for money. Unfortunately, the ever higher resolution sensors, some manufacturers have problems with the AF, so you do not necessarily before is immune even with an original.
