I discovered this book in its former edition. It was titled "Zazen" and included black and white photos, including one of Deshimaru zazen. This latest edition contains no pictures, but calligraphy that punctuate pleasantly reading. It was this book that made me decide once and for all to do zazen daily. Deshimaru with simplicity and kindness, urges us throughout the book to get us started and seek the Way. This book is not a treaty, but a collection of various texts. It contains the transcript of a session mondo (session of questions / answers between master and disciples), Zen stories, short texts of Deshimaru and sacred texts of Zen, with commentaries. However it is not a catch-all, but a real practice of manual daily, generous, reading very slowly and keep close to you and come back often.
