Criticism, expectations, disappointments, progression

After the previous structures and the jamming flair equally criticism had as plugging praise because of its catchy AOR, that happens with "Second Nature" of course also.
The guys from "FC" have turned to more complex structures and are actually progressive in regard to the project.
I welcome especially that the charm of the first album has not disappeared entirely. Technical Frickeleien be mostly avoided and the partly very detailed compositions (two over 10 min) are full of passionate energy and are not filled with "an end in itself-turns". The musicians thus play song useful.
The musical ideas are clearly focused on beautiful melodies and therefore there are many tracks with catchy.
A notable example I find the split in three parts lezten song "Cosmic Symphony". The Long Track transported an enormous amount of intensity and feeling.

Sound technically the album is much richer, but also undynamic mixed than its predecessor. I think that's one of the reasons for criticism and makes the first short preview for an impression of superficial musicality. Only upon closer listening, the sensitivity and profundity of the songs is clear. Too bad, but typical of current productions.

Conclusion: "Second Nature" sounds through structured than its predecessor, is profound, still pure joy of playing and just nice to hear. Ultra-complex and intricate music you will not find here. Congenial!
