This album was published in 1988 definitely different than what the iron maidens brought out so far.

Had the predecessor album Somewhere in Time the fans surprised with another sound that could be described as a self-willed, the Englishman still sat at SEVENTH SON plan ne shovel. Synthesizer sounds and acoustic guitars!

What is going on here?

A very habituation needy album to defeat for many, and then they tell on the plate of a child (the seventh son of a seventh son), who has the power, the devil! "What is this crap?", Wondered some listeners!

But now this album is considered by many as the most sophisticated Maiden fans and interesting work of smart musicians.

This concept album begins with a quiet, yet haunting vocals ....... Synthiklänge .... and then it crashes happening and Bruce sings the neckbreaker MOONCHILD.

WOW!

INFINITE DREAMS begins as jazzy ballad and increases the Heavy Metal-slayer.

CAN I PLAY WITH MADNESS is considered by many as the worst song of the record (I like the song).

THE EVIL THAT MEN DO is still considered by Iron Maiden at their concerts and a rapturous reception from the fans.

THE SEVENTH SON OF A SEVENTH SON is the most interesting song and has an atmosphere which I can not describe, goose bumps.

THE PROPHECEY offers a great intro with an ingenious Outro.

THE CLAIRVOYENT is also so a typical live song the guys.

ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG sealed the end of this concept album.

The whole album is atmospheric heavy metal music at its best, varied, great guitar solos and Dave and Adrian deliver to horny guitar duels. Nicko crouches like an octopus behind his drums and beats his drums as if he had still stand a few spare drums in the basement. Steve Harris Klöppelt the bass when he was playing for his life and his soul and not to forget; Bruce Dickinson, he sings with fervor and passion that some will miss in later albums. And rightly so?
After 44:03 minutes, the plate ends as it began. A great production!

The CD is rounded off by a wonderfully painted front and back cover with Maidens mascot Eddie behind an imaginative landscape in the Arctic Circle.

In the booklet there are many photos of musicians and yet so much more .....

All texts are printed!

Personal remark:
This album was my first this band and I felt the urge to also buy all the other albums, which I then also gradually did. Despite my enthusiasm for other musical styles (Medieval-Classical-Pop-Rock-mainstream music), Heavy Metal will always be an integral part of my life, a revelation the first time metal music as I experienced (Heart of Steel by Manowar , and many other bands and their albums more)!

Review:
