Unfortunately, I get it now around the croak no longer running. "Windows 7-allergy", I guess. And I would employ even after 14 years, only to be happy again so ... :-(
Fortunately, i came recently when Bundle Starz on the heavily discounted second part of 2012, of the unfamiliar Russian development team Targem clandestinely published. Normally, I do not expect anything of games from the Putin-land, because from there hardly worth mentioning, let alone play value is released to gamers, but "Insane 2" has convinced me otherwise.
Targem has actually managed to revive the spirit of its predecessor, its fun-generating "essence" of the new, the mixture of Driver's freedom and various racing versions now know exactly inspire still 1 1/2 decades. The game pace is even higher than it was pleasant in the original yet, and the career mode falls from unusually lush. Okay, some competitions are similar on closer inspection then quite strong, one could almost speak of repetitions with the exchanged vehicles, the motivation but it does not detract. 9 hours I've been in "Insane 2" sunk just got just over 40% of career achievements completed - and stay always on the ball and steering wheel stick. Something speaks clearly for the game.
"Insane 2" can be seen and heard. Graphically neither stunning nor unsightly, but a good way thing. The textures are not exactly the sharpest and the areas except for the occurrence of individual rhinos in the African plains something lifeless, and the many small effects (rains and lightning, snow, mud / water splashes, Heat Haze, ...), the unrealistic ( therefore all the more spaßigere) physics and the nice feeling Raser agree in the end positive. Just a pity that there is no appealing damage model was built, in 2001's game much more was possible to his car completely to scrap. The engines roar fat and clashes rattle crisp out of the speakers, while any rock / metal Mucke runs in the background in the background, on the one but not really bothered.
What I like most about the cheeky, sometimes cunning Bot-AI, the one in the majority of cases not giving and acting aggressively demanding respectively. A great fun when the vehicles compete for the flag and come of ludicrous clashes and boorish attacks. Only in standard races it shows easily beatable, but that it shares the only weakness that probably is on the agenda in most racing games.
Conclusion:
"Insane 2" is - like his predecessor - for chaotic, uncomplicated and therefore also very entertaining racing pleasure. Connoisseurs of "Insane 1" are unlikely to come if simply want more of old on the successor. Other racing friends to date still had no contact with "Insane", should take a look inside if when they are off-road freedom and modes variety not completely averse.
