Looking for a grid that should hold our child from falling down the cellar stairs and the same should be the ancient spring incompetent cats the opportunities to seek refuge there but, we found only (!) This grid. Meanwhile attached - pretty easy if you just stuck - it does the job pretty well and we are satisfied. Whether the grid is still stable when the child stands on its own feet and shakes it remains to be seen. The manufacturer distances itself due to the height (Caution, much higher than a normal child gates and thus unstable !!!) of it to use for children and has expressly as dog and cat grille. The cat flap swings in both directions and is easily accessible. The grid can be mounted in three ways, which are described in some detail in the (English) manual. It also states what kind of wall which is attachment, which is an additional advantage of the instructions. Stuck to the grid just as we did, you have to attract quite firm with a pipe wrench the screws so that it is reasonably stable. The screws on the other hand we would definitely not be bored in the wall, because they are much too small for it. As had larger had to clean with dowels, but are not supplied. The processing of the grid is ok, metal and quite heavy. We have had two extensions here, due to the specified length, but only have one with fitted. This of course makes for a certain instability, because it is only plugged to date but that is ok. The door is provided with a locking device, which can be adjusted so that the door can be opened only in one direction (for example, when mounted on a staircase as ours). That works well. The mechanism for opening is "learned" quickly: simultaneously press down on the handle a kind of switch and pushes up a stop (goes hand) forward or backward, so you then closes it again. The passage with quite narrow, only drawback, if you want to "loaded" runaway. Otherwise, we have been very pleased and the grid completely fulfilled the purpose for which it is not made according to the description :-).
