It's been a little over a month since I now this is what I can say:
Most:
+ My carpal tunnel is relieved (obviously it is no longer in contact with the office).
+ The product is of very good quality, the materials used are of good quality.
+ Battery life seems very good, I use 8 hours per day for 1 month and no signs of fatigue batteries.
Cons:
- Necessarily for a right handed (fortunately in my case!).
- A little high for my taste, the inclination is certainly useful that the wrist is not based on the desktop but why make it so high? This creates for me a significant strain to maintain this position.
- Available in one size (to be adapted really should be able to choose depending on the size of his hand).
- Receiver too bulky (frequency 27 MHz, that is why it is big compared to the nano-receiver 2.4GHz now found everywhere).
- Buttons for thumb wrong place (I have configured copy / paste, but in the end I do not use them because they are too hard to reach).
- Monitoring of the laser sensor is not very accurate, but I just ordered a mouse pad, this will perhaps improve this because my office is wood colors.
To conclude, this is a very good initiative of Microsoft to make an ergonomic mouse. Moreover it is surprising that the problem of carpal tunnel is not taken more seriously. So far I was not bothered me, but after 15 years of intensive use of the mouse, I finally realized that everyone can be touched.
The initiative is so good, still have to push the concept to the end, with a choice of the mouse size and technology delivered to the taste of the day (I speak especially of the receiver). I guess this is not done because the commercial success of such a mouse is obviously very low.
However in a few years there will probably be an explosion of this syndrome, this is where the behavior will change (much like what happened with cigarettes).
Generally if you experience the first symptoms of the syndrome and use intensively the mouse, it is better not to hesitate too long, this mouse fulfills its office and worth the price, although there is still best on the market in terms of accuracy and portability, think first of your wrist, it will thank you :)
A preferred compared to a mouse pad with gel wrist rest that is not nearly as effective.
