The thin sheet metal, which is the body, and many plastic parts such as drip tray and run, make the machine very easy. That's maybe handy, but also looks cheap and unsustainable. Another unpleasant effect with this is that the machine of the fixed stand is gone missing. So when swinging the filter holder you have to counter hold.
The removal of the water tank unfortunately is not exactly a joy. Or rather reinsertion. For here have hoses, which attract water, are quite cumbersome brought in place again. Luckily, there are as a feed hopper under the cover. So the water tank only needs to be removed for cleaning.
The noise during operation is normal for an espresso machine, but unfortunately they rattle quite. This is also due to the non-drip tray and the drip tray thin it.
If the machine stands, but they have made a good impression. And the espresso tastes very good. Too bad that the space for the cups is on the small side. Large cups (maybe for a cappuccino) or a glass no longer fit there.
Conclusion: The espresso machine does what they want, good espresso. What Philips has now made from Gaggia, is interested in the average Joe consumer is not much. But the price already, and therefore it is likely the deficiencies described above, provide not easy.
